How to Surf

Surfing is an activity that has been around since 1769.

Although many people make it look easy, surfing is in fact very hard to learn and become skilled at. For some, surfing is easy but for most it is a difficult activity that takes months of practice and if not years. Here are the steps you need to keep in mind for when you begin to surf for your first time or if you want to improve your surfing skills.

                                  Step 1:
When you first get into the water you will need to paddle out further from the shore so that you can catch a good wave and so that you do not damage your surfboard fins against the bank once you catch a wave.

                            Step 2:
Once you have gone further out into the water, wait for a wave to approach you and turn yourself around so that you are facing the shore. Once you are facing the shore, begin to paddle with your arms as fast as you can while the wave rises above you.

                            Step 3:
As you feel the wave begin to lift your board, quickly go to your knees and if you feel balanced then go right onto your feet. Make sure that you bend your knees because balance is key when being pushed by a body of water.

These are the most common steps used by most surfers to help gain better control over the board and to be able to ride a wave! Now go practice, you don't need a very big wave to be able to ride your first waves.

(Check out this link for more further steps on how to surf!)

Now with surfing, many people have the fear of getting eaten to bits by a shark. Well in fact you are more likely to be eaten by a dog then you were if it was a shark. As shown by the Florida Natural History Museum which they show the difference between dog and shark attacks from the years 2001-2013.
I am showing this to eliminate the main factor of fear that most everyone has when beginning to surf for the first time because those dark waters sure are mysterious.

Paying less with a successful vacation in Hawaii

The islands of Hawaii are huge.

Most people that go to Hawaii run into the common problem of overpaying and eventually spend most of their money on their trip. Most of these people have spent their money on hotels or popular tours which in fact don't even need to happen. As calculated by Hawaii's visitor industry in 2015, there were more than 8.6 million visitor arrivals and total spending's of more than $15 billion in just that year alone. Renting a house for your trip can be so much less expensive, plus you do not need to worry about the rush of tourists where ever you go. During my trip to Hawaii that I had about a month or so ago, we spent so much less money by staying in a house than we did if we were in a hotel. Plus because you are in Hawaii, it is beautiful no matter where you stay.

There is a lot you can do wherever you go in Hawaii, thus why you can reduce the cost of your trip by thousands yet still live the Hawaiin lifestyle on your vacation.
This is a picture of a beautiful resort and tourist location in Hawaii where much money goes.

This is a beautiful picture of a beach off the coast of Maui with very little structure around it.

The difference between these two pictures is that you can find just as much beauty and even more if you were to adventure away from popular tourist locations. Finding a small house to live in would be just a fraction of the cost it would be if you were to stay in a hotel.

(Check out this link for more information how to spend the least amount of money possible when going to Hawaii!)

In 2006, as you can see in the graph calculated by Hawaii Travel guide, millions of tourists traveled to Hawaii which accounts for so many people and money that was spent towards the many hotel reservations that were made. It is now 2017, 11 years later, so as you could probably guess there were a lot of people in the year of 2016 as well as during this year which shows how popular Hawaii has come. Meaning more $$ for the big guys.

Introduction to my Hawaii Adventure

Welcome to my blog, fellow adventures! I am making a blog to teach people about the culture and fun experiences that are involved when visiting Hawaii.

When our project was first introduced that we had to create our own blog on the topic of our choice, I decided to choose Hawaii because next week I will explore the wonderful island of Maui and take in the wonders that Hawaii lets you embrace. For each month of our project, I plan on learning more and more about the wonders of Hawaii along with creating a beautiful video of my trip that introduces the culture and fun vlogs and videos that show what I took in.

This is the island of Maui which is where I will be visiting on my trip to Hawaii! I will be visiting Maui for one week which will be very fun because it is a wonderful place.

This is fire dancing, a big part of the Hawaiian culture as it had been influenced by the Māori people of New Zealand which was then used by the people of Hawaii to tell stories. It also showed creativity and art as it had been

Throughout all my blog posts I will share different ideas that will be able to help you for your Hawaii Vacation, as well as showing ideas that could help you for other places besides the beautiful islands of Hawaii.
